Workforce development organizations rely on digital tools to help job seekers navigate the job search process, build professional materials, and prepare for employment opportunities. Hardly provides an integrated platform that allows career centers, job coaches, and job seekers to collaborate throughout the job search journey.

While the platform is widely used by workforce development organizations across the United States, including several partners in the Pittsburgh region, Hardly seeks deeper insight into how job seekers interact with its tools and whether these interactions correlate with successful job placements. Understanding these patterns can help improve platform design, strengthen support strategies, and better demonstrate the platform’s impact on employment outcomes.

Project Details

Our team worked with Hardly to analyze user interaction data and evaluate how engagement with the platform influences job placement outcomes.

Workstream 1: Job Seeker Profile & Outcome Analysis

• Analyzed job seeker background data including work history, education, skills, and location.
• Identified patterns and inconsistencies across datasets provided by Hardly and partner organizations.
• Investigated relationships between user characteristics and job placement outcomes.
• Evaluated changes in job placement timelines before and after users began utilizing the Hardly platform.
• Explored opportunities to develop predictive insights regarding the likelihood of job placement.

Workstream 2: Platform Interaction Analysis

• Examined how job seekers interact with various Hardly platform tools, including the resume builder, job application tracker, cover letter builder, interview practice tools, and career coaching features.
• Analyzed engagement with messaging, task management, and resource-sharing features between job seekers and career coaches.
• Evaluated patterns in platform usage to determine which features most strongly correlate with successful employment outcomes.
• Generated insights to help Hardly optimize feature design and improve user engagement.
